Police say man from Chennai hacked e-mail account of woman's father, used it to send obscene photos of her and lewd messagesThe Chatuhshrungi police have booked a man from Chennai for allegedly hacking an email address and sending obscene mails and photographs of a 24-year-old woman from Baner to her fiance.
Representation picThe suspect has been identified as Vijay Varadrajan from Chennai. The woman filed a complaint in this regard and based on that the police applied Section 292A (printing of grossly indecent or scurrilous matter or matter intended for blackmail) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 66, 66(a), 67 and 67(a) of the Information Technology Act against the suspect.
Police Inspector Bhimrao Tele from the Chatuhshrungi police station said the incident took place in a span of one month starting from March 26. The victim and the suspect -- both IT professionals -- got acquainted with each other while undergoing a training session of the company they were working with.
"The suspect changed the settings on the e-mail account belonging to the woman's father and sent various obscene e-mails, messages, photos of the woman to her fiance and also to her mobile phone," Tele said. "Upset over the continuous obscene e-mails and messages, the woman finally decided to lodge a police complaint against the suspect. He will be arrested soon."
