Man held for allegedly raping a woman

A 24-year old woman in Baner was allegedly raped, blackmailed and bereaved of around Rs 3 lakh by one Eknath Parte.

According to cops from Chaturshrungi police station, the victim ran an eatery at Baner where Parte intoxicated her by mixing something in her food and then allegedly raped her. He even allegedly took her nude pictures and began extorting her.

Parte continued this for several months but when the victim got fed up of his increasing demands, sheu00a0 registered a complaint with the Chaturshrungi police station.

Acting on the complaint, the cops laid a trap and arrested Parte when he came to collect the amount. Parte has been booked under different sections of the IPC.
