A man hurled a shoe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at a function at his native Bhakhtiyarpur in Patna district yesterday, after which he was arrested


Patna: A man hurled a shoe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at a function at his native Bhakhtiyarpur in Patna district yesterday, after which he was arrested.

The man, identified as Pravesh Kumar Rai, was arrested for hurling a show towards the chief minister while a function was on at Bhakhtiyarpur, Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said.

The shoe fell short of the dais and police caught the man immediately. Rai hails from Samastipur district and initial questioning revealed that he was angry for non-redressal of his complaint.

Rai was kept at Bhakhtiyarpur police station for detailed questioning. The chief minister continued with the programme despite the incident. Bhakhtiyarpur is the chief minister's native place.
