Survives suicide attempt, after quarrel with wife
Manjunath, an Ulsoor resident was brought to Bowring Hospital last night at around 12.30 am after he consumed pesticides, coupled with alcohol.
Manjunath, who is an alcoholic, according to the doctors, had a few pegs, and was drunk.
This was followed by a quarrel with his wife. Infuriated, he took a bottle of pesticide, mixed with his drink, and consumed it.
"I had just come home after work, and was sleeping. I got a call from his wife and was told that Manjunath has consumed poison. I rushed him to the hospital," his relative Mahesh told MiD DAY.
Doctors at the hospital said, "We have started the treatment and had to clean his stomach. Heu00a0 will eventually recover." His wife refused to speak.
