Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today took stock of the country's overall security scenario with the military top brass here.
The 90-minute security review at the Prime Minister's residence was attended by Defence Minister A K Antony, National Security Adviser (NSA) Shiv Shankar Menon, Army Chief General V.K. Singh, Navy Chief Admiral Nirmal Verma, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal P.V. Naik, Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar and DRDO Chief V K Saraswat.
According to defence sources, Dr. Singh was briefed on the overall security measures and the general preparedness of the defence forces.
Monday's meeting came a day after Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI ) chief Ahmed Shuja Pasha warned India that any Abbottabad-like attack by New Delhi would invite a fitting response as targets inside India had been identified and rehearsals carried out.
