Two armed men robbed a jewellery store in Ram Murthy Nagar yesterday morning. The duo visited Santosh Jewellers around 10 am, minutes after the store was opened. While one of the robbers barged into the store, the other waited outside on his bike.
At the time of the incident, Prakash, store owner, and his employee Surendra were busy arranging the articles. The burglar, wearing a black jacket, attacked Prakash and Surendra with a sword.
Before they could retaliate, the robber took all the gold ornaments that he could lay his hands upon and escaped on the bike.
According to police, the duo had masked their faces with hand kerchiefs and was wearing helmets. Surendra told police the robbers were well built and looked of around 25 years of age.
Though the shop has CCTV camera installed, it were not switched on when the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, Ram Murthy Nagar police have registered a case and have launched search operation to nab the duo.
