The information surfaced when Advocate Vinayak Abhyankar, representing the farmers, cross-examined Karnik. The lawyer said such a report would have helped prove whose bullets had hit the farmers. Abhyankar added that Karnik did not call for the report even though he was holding the charge of superintendent of Pune rural till September 1.
Karnik was deposing before the one-member commission headed by retired judge of the Bombay High Court M G Gaikwad for the second consecutive day about the police firing on farmers in Maval.
