Black days continued literally for Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal when some unknown people tried to throw black ink on his face on the PMC building premises last evening. However, the ink fell on the bonnet and top of the mayor's car.
u00a0Rajpal lodged a complaint with the Shivajinagar police and narrated the incident to PMC commissioner Mahesh Zagade.
The PMC security has found pamphlets undersigned with Patit Pawan Sanghatana.
Seven young people approached Rajpal when he was heading towards his car parked in the PMC premises around 6.45 pm.
They gave him some pamphlets to read and suddenly threw black ink on his face.
The incident was in retaliation to the mayor's recent statement about removing Dadoji Konddeo's statue from
Lal Mahal. Patit Pawan Sanghatana had demonstrated before the PMC building four days ago.
'Cowardly act'Condemning the incident, Rajpal said, "This is ridiculous and I condemn this cowardly act." He refused to confirm if he would get a security guard with him. "I will think about it," he said.
Mayor told this reporter that he was able to sneak into his car and avoid the black ink on his face. "I could
not avoid the black colour on my shirt and trousers," he said.
