Theu00a0Metro hospital has finally got its ambulance back. Three days after Deenanath Hospital allegedly impounded the vehicle for ramming into a doctor's car,u00a0 driver Sharad Kamble handed over Rs 5,000 to Deenanath hospital's administrator Sachin Vyahavare and took back the ambulance around 2 pm.
"I reached the hospital and handed over the entire sum to him (Vyavahare). Dr Sameer Jog was also present. They then released my vehicle and I took it back to the hospital," Kamble said. Kamble said that the hospital staff had misplaced the keys to the wheel jammers that they had installed.
"They searched for about 15 to 20 minutes and then finally had to break it open," Kamble said. When MiD DAY spoke to Vyahavare, he alleged that Kamble had himself requested the hospital authorities to jam his vehicle until he paid the money. This was contrary to Kamble's claims. "Why would we impound ambulances of other hospitals? We only wanted him to pay the compensation. He himself requested us to keep the vehicle as guarantee," he said.
