5-year-old had been kidnapped only two hours earlier
She was abducted and rescued in a matter of few hours. 5-year-old Sangeeta was recovered by the Delhi police on Sunday from the clutches of a labour contractor. At around 6.30pm on July 4, Sangeeta was on her way home in Shahabad Dairy, with her mother Champa Devi (25) and sister Sunita (7). Suddenly a man and a woman on a bike arrived and abducted Sangeeta.
"We received a PCR call of kidnapping at around 6.30 pm. Our team immediately approached the spot and found the complainant. The girl's mother had remembered the number of the bike. A wireless message was flashed with available details. And after two hours our team arrested the accused at a check post and recovered the girl," said a police officer.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on June 29 for allegedly kidnapping a teenager he was in a relationship with. Ravi, a resident of Faridabad, had allegedly kidnapped the girl, based in South Delhi's Mehrauli, on June 11. The girl's father had raised suspicion about Ravi. Several raids were conducted, after which the girl was rescued. |
