When it comes to Continental fare, most chefs tend to drown meats, vegetables and pastas in cheese and more cheese. When I visited Spaghetti Kitchen, I was determined to try something different other than pasta in white sauce or cheese steaks.u00a0

Cheesy encounter: Fusilli Pollo e Funghi |
The Cappuccino of Four Mushrooms Wild Soup was an auspicious start. The aromatic thick soup was immensely satisfying. And the Calamari Fritti, rings of squid, flash fried to a golden brown and served with a cream dip, made me eager to sample more.u00a0
But my main course Fusilli Pollo e Funghi or fusilli tossed in creamy peppercorn sauce with pan-seared chicken and shavings of Parmesan cheese was a disappointment. Making my way through the bland and chewy dish was quite a task. And a small serving of Pudino al Panettone, bread and butter pudding studded with brandy soaked raisins, didn't do much to revive my flagging interest in what was on my plate.
The open kitchen, the well-stocked bar and the pleasing service make you want to visit Spaghetti Kitchen. If only they'd take a closer look at their menu, they would be rocking.
