The brutality of the murder has shocked even officers of Delhi police. The body of the victim, Sanjay, was found with several stab wounds, its head crushed with a heavy object and a thick stick forced inside the mouth into the throat.

Cops received a call about a body found in Millenium Park at 8.35 pm on December 10 of this month. "We received information and our team immediately rushed to the spot.

The team found the corpse and a mobile phone was also recovered. With the help of the cell phone, the accused was identified as Sanjay, who works in the Comesum restaurant in Nizamuddin area. A team of senior officers was immediately deployed for the case and a case was lodged in Sunlight colony police station," said a police officer.

Cops discovered that the deceased was living with a roommate in a rented accommodation. The roommate, Vinod Kumar, 22, who worked with Sanjay in the restaurant, was interrogated.

"Initially Vinod denied having any involvement, but later confessed to the crime. The accused revealed that Sanjay was having illicit relations with guard at the restaurant, Maya. But after some time he started an affair with her daughter Anu, 22, (name changed). Maya was very angry, but Sanjay ignored her warnings. Vinod was also getting closer to Maya and finally she discussed the issue with him.

The duo and two other staff members, Kanhaiya Kumar and Ganesh Yadav, planned to kill Sanjay. On the night of the incident Kanhaiya, Vinod and Ganesh called the deceased to the park and killed him on his arrival," the officer added. All of the accused, including the mastermind Maya, were arrested by the police.

Killed for resisiting robbery

Delhi Police claimed to have arrested the two accused involved in the murder of a 26-year-old man, who was stabbed to death when he resisted a robbery attempt at Anand Parbat in central Delhi. Manish Kumar was murdered on December 9. The two arrested were identified as Paras (20) and Dharam Dass (19) and the weapon used in the crime - a knife - has been recovered.
The victim was found stabbed near Hanuman Temple at Anand Parbat on December 9. The motive for the crime was not clear. With the help of local intelligence, police identified two persons who were seen in the area on the day of the crime. The two were nabbed from Anand Parbat on December 11 and during interrogation they confessed that they were involved in the crime.
