Make Thai Wok's new avatar, Thai High, a must visit in Mehrauli
First things first. If you're wondering what the weird-sounding mhoo come wan means, it's a sliced-pork-grilled-with-honey-chilli-sauce dish that's a rare find in Delhi's Oriental restaurants . But so is a rooftop dining area that overlooks the majestic Qutub Minar. But Thai High, Thai Wok's in its all-new avatar, has all of it served onu00a0 the perfect platter. Think candle-lit spaces, sounds of ripples, soft notes and Oriental opulence in the sprawling spaces of the Ambawatta Complex, along with, of course, good food. Here's Delhi at its romantic best.

FoodRestaurant director Payal Jauhar welcomed us warmly and recommended the yum phak krob (Rs 250) to begin with. Yum, as the name suggests. Next on our table came crispy vegetables in a tangy dressing, and grilled chicken strips with soya and lemon grass. Both distinct, and pleasantly so. In soups, we tried the veg and non veg tom kha soups, complete with the galangal and kaffir leaves which other eateries conveniently miss. For the main course, we opted for red snapper chilli sour, vegetable green curry and phak namboiy, which turned out the dinner winner. Steamed rice played accomplice, and tastefully so. The dessert selections score no less. We treated ourselves with the tiramisu, New York styled mixed berry baked cheesecake (Rs 295), and death by chocolate (Rs 275). And wished they'd never get over.

Drinks
Their signature mocktail, tangerine cordial (Rs 125), is worth a try. Topped with sprigs of mint and soda, it's light and refreshing. The teas, especially the rose, jasmine and daisy varieties, deserve a special mention.
Though their liquor license is awaited, they serve spirits on a daily license basis on weekends.

Ambience A flight of fantasy-ful wooden stairs make you walk through a line of rotund plaster-of-Paris monks with candles in their hands. The terrace transcends it all. Amid greens andu00a0 splendid scenes, you spot the Qutub Minar and surrounding structures, the privacy of the cabanas. The 48-seater space resonates in silent nostalgia with soothing tunes, making it a place to walk in late and stay till late.
