The score for Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori much-hyped film Kites is a complete letdown. Composer Rajesh Roshan, who was last embroiled in a plagiarism controversy for Krazzy 4, resurfaces for the uninspiringu00a0 album.
KK, Vishal Dadlani and Suzanne D'Mello can't save the insipid sop that the score is. KK opens the album with Zindagi do pal ki, a soulless composition with dull lyrics to match courtesy old-time collaborator Nasir Faraaz (Krrish). Dil kyun yeh mera opens with acoustic guitar riffs and a flute melody along the lines of a famous jingle for a mobile service provider composed by AR Rahman. Dil kyun yeh mera also sung by KK is a plus on the dud list. Tum bhi ho wahi with its furious rhythms and electronica spark showed promise except we've heard Vishal's growl overused onu00a0 Bollywood tracks.
Kites in the Sky, the half Spanish-half English track by Hrithik and Suzanne with its melodramatic arrangements is a ridiculous self-indulgence.
The album's a sheer waste of talent.
