French flautist Yohann Egret met classical guitarist Shyamant Behal in the chilling winter of Delhi, in 2008. They lived as neighbours and performed at the same concert, instantly striking a chord and often spent late nights exchanging musical notes and jamming together.

Soon, Yohann returned to his hometown, though the thrill of playing on the same platform never quite left the duo. "We started working together in summer since it's holiday break for both of us. We even call ourselves Summer Duo," says Behal over the phone, on the eve of the duo's first performance in the city at a SoBo-based art gallery.

With looming monsoon-trimmed clouds, the city is missing its glorious sunshine, and the acoustic performance of classical South American music promises to add some cheer to your day. "We will be performing works of Brazilian guitarist and composer Celso Machado and Argentinean tango composer Astor Piazzolla, apart from other musicians.

We are sure it will appeal to just anybody who appreciates good music. We have chosen content that's accessible to everybody rather than going for contemporary works that are more difficult to comprehend," explains Behal.

Also, check out works by four photographers Gauri Gill, Shankar Natarajan, Vivek Vilasini and Anup Mathew Thomas exhibited at Gallery BMB, as part of a show titled Docu Tour. There are barely 80 seats at the gallery, and we recommend you get to the venue early to claim your seat.

To be known by and attached to your father's name at all times, and to be compared to his memorable works, can get quite daunting. Case in point: when you spot the tigers in the works by Owais Husain, and you can't help but recall the vivid images of horses in the artworks of his father and now a Qatari-resident MF Husain.

In his new solo show, Three Worlds, Owais goes beyond paintings to include drawings and installations too. The sub-shows are titled, The Heart (with 15 paintings and 10 charcoal drawings sporting motifs and iconography depicting the beautiful distance between lovers), The Mind (with installations of three life-size Siberian tigers, limestone rocks from the desert of Eastern Syria, wood beams and acrylic sheets the tigers symbolising extinction and a sign of the times we live in) and The Spirit (with seven beds each with a pillow book of poetry, water colours with written poetry and video projection).
