Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government today announced a compensation of Rs five lakh each to seven women, who were raped during Muzaffarnagar riots.

The state government has decided to give Rs five lakh each to seven rape victims in Muzaffarnagar district, official sources said here.
The government has also decided to consider 19 missing persons as dead and giving relief to their family member.

The state government also sanctioned Rs 10 lakh as compensation to family members of Junior Engineer Satyanarain Verma, who was killed in the state capital.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also sanctioned Rs 10 lakh to the wife of ITBP jawan Ashish singh, who was killed in a fire incident recenlty, official said, adding permission has been taken from the Election Commission for the same.
