New Delhi: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday defended the Maharashtra Government's decision to ban the sale and consumption of meat in Mumbai for four days, saying norms of all religions should be respected.
'It is the belief of the Jains that there should not be any kind of killing. They have shown respect to their religion,' Anwar told ANI.
The Maharashtra Government ban has been imposed in view of the Jain festival of Paryushan.
The festival will be observed on September 10, 13, 17 and 18.
