Bangaloreans thronged the only two outlets exhibiting the small car, Concorde Motors and Prerana Motors, yesterday, hoping for a test-drive before booking was to begin today.
But Tata's one-Nano-per-showroom policy dashed their hopes.u00a0 "We have only one car on display and it's difficult to arrange a test ride," said Suresh Kamath, manager, Prerana Motors. "Convincing customers has become a big exercise and some end up unhappy as we can't take them on a test ride."
Bookings onWith bookings open only till April 25, there's a huge rush at the showrooms for forms or for a mere look. Around a thousand visitors step into Prerana Motors alone, everyday.u00a0
But dealers say they've made adequate arrangements for a smooth booking process. Expecting over a lakh bookings from Bangalore alone, they have organised special teams.u00a0
Prerana Motors' 10-member team has been on the job since April 3 and will look after the process for the next 10 days.
"We hope we will not disappoint the people who come to book cars," added Kamath.
That, of course, will depend on whether or not they want a test-drive.
