One among many mountaineers stuck at Mount Everest is Mumbaikar Kuntal Josheri, a software engineer who was on his second attempt to scale the peak. Josheri, a resident of Ghatkopar East, left Mumbai on March 31 and was scheduled to return on June 4 had the earthquake not hit the country.

Speaking to sunday mid-day Dipti Josheri, Kuntal's wife said, "He is there with one of his friends, who called his wife at noon to say they were safe. I had last spoken to him on Friday when he told me that their things were going smoothly and they were to return to basecamp today. I am not sure whether they are already at base camp or stuck between camp two and base camp."
