Bystanders got alarmed on hearing the cries of the baby. Passengers pulled the emergency chain bringing the train to a halt after it moved some 500 metres. The mother and child were then united, the police said.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Brijesh Srivastava said GRP personnel swung into action and rushed the duo to Bhojipura health centre where the medical officer in-charge, Dr Saurabh, said the child was totally safe and did ânot have even a scratch' on her body.
