The deceased had taken money from the accused to carry out some plumbing work at his house but failed to comply; this angered the latter
Delhi police arrested two people in connection with a murder in Nihal Vihar area of west Delhi that occurred on the night of Diwali. Cops also recovered a weapon used in commission of the crime. On the night of October 26, a 22-year-old was found stabbed in front of Ambika Enclave and was declared brought dead by doctors at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. The deceased was identified as Avinash. According to police, the arrested accused have been identified as Pawan (26) and Rohit (22).

On October 26, police received a PCR call that a boy was lying in an unconscious state at Ambika Enclave, Kakiwali Gali.u00a0"Police reached the spot in a short while and discovered that the person had already been shifted to SGM Hospital. On reaching the hospital, the body of an unidentified male was found. There was blood all over it. There were two injury marks, caused by sharp-edged weapons. We registered a case of murder," said a senior police official.
Dirty work
During investigation it was found that Avinash had undertaken sanitation and plumbing work at the house of Rohit about six months ago. But despite taking full payment, he did not complete the job.u00a0"This became the cause of dispute between the deceased and the accused. It was also revealed that there was some altercation between suspects Pawan Kumar, Rohit and the deceased Avinash about 20 days prior to the incident. Pawan and Rohit were apprehended," said V Ranganathan, DCP, west district.
Ranganathan added, "During interrogation they confessed to their involvement in the crime. Pawan Kumar disclosed that he and his associate Rohit killed Avinash to extract revenge. We recovered blood- stained clothes of Pawan and a weapon used in commission of the crime".
