A C Narendran, who is an ardent devotee of the scandalised swami, has lodged a complaint with the commissioner of police.

He has filed a case underu00a0u00a0 Section 295A of IPC (hurting religious sentiments) against two news channels and other media houses for allegedly having deliberately distorted telecast of the Guru Poornima celebrations and Kundalini yaga awakening sessions at the Nityananda Dhyananpeetam ashram in Bidadi. The Commissioner has promised a fair and just investigation at the earliest.

Making a point?
In his complaint, Narendran said that the ashram has conducted few programmes as part of the Guru Poornima celebrations at Nityananda Dhyananpeetam Ashram on July 15, 2011. "Following the demonstration, Paramahamsa Nityananda answered the queries from the press.

However, the reports from print media and TV channels relating to the above programme have hurt my religious sentiments. With no attempt to understand or verify the spiritual and scientific research, they have misrepresented it outright as a 'con, comedy and repulsive show' to readers and viewers," he elaborated in his complaint.

He further bemoaned, "This was accompanied by derogatory vocal commentaries, several panel discussions with people who simply abused the programme without even caring to visit or experience the program." Terming the reports as abusive and malicious reporting, Narendran claimed that the great Hindu tradition of Kundalini awakening and levitation established by great saints and enlightened masters has been defamed, thus hurting myu00a0 religious sentiments to the core.

"I am deeply hurt that these sacred truths and spiritual experiences are being twisted and portrayed in such a
degrading light," Narendran said adding that the media reports have hurt the faith of not only him, but also millions of people around the world.
