Wildlife and environment enthusiasts who frequent Sanjay Gandhi National Park now have a reason to smile.
Taking serious note of complaints they have been receiving from visitors about time wasted in getting tickets, especially on holidays, national park officials finally introduced the online booking option.
Commenting on the initiative, SGNP Director and Chief Conservator of Forests Sunil Limaye said, "Every year SGNP celebrates Wildlife Week from October 1 to October 7. So on the very first day, Forest Minister Patangrao Kadam inaugurated the online ticket booking system. The service can be availed of not only to book entry tickets to the park, but various others services that are on offer."
Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Sachin Repal said Mahaonline provided the online ticket booking facility and now nature enthusiasts can book tickets for entry, lion and tiger safari, mini train rides and boating, among other options. "Tickets can now be booked from home. This will not only save time, but will also help visitors avail different facilities offered by the SGNP," he said.
How to book the ticket?
>> First, log on to www.mahaonline.gov.in and select the Citizen Services option on the yellow tool bar
>> You'll be directed to the booking page where five choices -- entry, mini train, boating, safari and parking -- area available
>> Select your desired option and then keep clicking ânext' until the website directs you to the payment page
