Stir fry, dip in sauce or have them simply as a nourishing soup, a bowl of this unleavened dough will never disappoint you
Be it in the yellow packets at your grocery shop or in a food shack in remote Ladakh, noodles have wriggled effortlessly into our food habits as well as into our hearts. While the Arabs or Italians (pour in a couple of others) strongly contest over its origin, leave it to the Asians to serve the best noodle bowl. Join in the festival that celebrates this humble dough that comes in plentiful version.
Lemon grass flavoured steamed noodles
Start your meal with a crunchy noodle wrapped chicken or if you prefer seafood, try its tangy prawn version.
If you are a weight-watcher and dig only salads, opt for the crunchy beans sprout glass noodle salad with pepper or the sweet and tangy crispy noodle salad. The soups range from noodle broth with vegetables and the thukpa; the Tibetan soup made with minced meat (chicken in this case) flavoured with garlic.
Try digging into the chilli garlic noodles with shredded potato or Celery Wine noodles with the favour of Chinese wine and Celery. Or choose the delectable, ever-famous Singapore rice noodles, tossed with bell peppers, carrots, flavored with curry powder or the thai specialty phat noodles.
The festival also offers Khow Suey, the Burmese noodles dish with contrasting condiments that comes from the mountainous Shan state of Myanmar.
