According to the citizens, for the past few days, the Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) website - www.grahakseva.com - for making online payment of property tax has not been functioning properly.
Complaints galore
In the last 15 days, the website has received as many as 58,100 complaints from online property tax payers, stating that the site was constantly showing messages such as âsystem is not working' or âtry again after sometime'.
"Usually, I pay property tax at ward office by standing in a long queue. Hence this time I decided to do it online. But the PMC website wasn't working properly and was constantly showing me the message of âtry after sometime'," said Jyoti Kanade, who added she received the reminder about paying her dues on Tuesday, just two before the last day to fill the tax.

Today is the last date of paying the property tax.
Like Kanade, Sumitra Khopade, a resident of Nana Peth, too faced similar problem while making her tax payment online.
"As May 31 is the last date for making payments, I paid my property tax by standing in a long queue at the ward office," Khopade said.
Officialspeak
However, PMC tax department chief, Vilas Kanade, denied that there were any failures of the website. "Today, I have received more 1,000 online payments. It might possible for the payment procedure to take time because people must be overcrowding the website. It's wrong to say that website is not functional," Kanade said.u00a0
