"Ever since the time I began knowing and understanding politics and polls, this is the first time that the common man is eagerly waiting Lok Sabha elections in 2014," Modi said at a function organised to felicitate his elevation on his 64th birthday. "This time, the discussions have been begun by the common man. They want polls to be held as soon as possible.u00a0
The entire country is in a hurry for elections and waiting for this government to go soon. In India, I'm seeing so much hatred and dislike for any elected government for the first time," he said. Modi said that there's a desire for change in the country and that people strongly believe that the present situation of the country just cannot be allowed to prevail for long. He compared the common man waiting for general elections, like people waiting for rains in a hot and humid month like June. "It is like waiting for rains in a hot and humid month of June.
Generally poll discussions first begin in newspapers and then people begin discussing it only after candidates file their nomination papers. But this time, it is the other way around," he said.
Taking potshots at the UPA govt over missing coal files, he said, "The new generation will start asking where's Delhi on the map. Earlier, there was a feeling that Delhi has a government that governs India, but nowadays, there is a feeling that there's no government there. It is said that the coal scam files are missing, but I say that the entire government in Delhi is missing".
"The atmosphere is such that the poorest of the poor are becoming impatient," he said, seeking people's blessings to fulfill all responsibilities bestowed upon him by the BJP.u00a0
