Several people were feared trapped when a three-storey building housing a shopping centre collapsed on Wednesday in this Haryana city adjoining the national capital, police said.
Police officials said that at least two people were taken out of the debris with serious injuries shortly after the building called City Centre came crashing down with a deafening roar.
The incident took place in the New Industrial Township (NIT) Phase I. The accident happened all of a sudden, stunned witnesses told the police.
A police officer said: "We can't say how many people have died because the building has fallen in the front. We are trying to find how many people are trapped."

Another officer added: "Some construction work was going on in the building. Heavy generator sets were installed on top of the building when it came crashing down."
