A bag containing live cartridges and a pistol was found outside Jhandewalan Metro Station on 13th of October, when the Commonwealth Games was on. An FIR in this regard has been registered with Mandir Marg police station of New Delhi district.

According to a police source, a constable was on patrol duty when he noticed a black bag lying outside the Metro station. Senior police officials were called at the spot who decided to inform the bomb disposal squad there might be explosives inside the bag.
"The bomb squad took the bag to a safe place and opened. it Police personnel were surprised to see the contents - live cartridges and a pistol," said the police source.
A senior police official confirmed the incident and said that the constable who discovered the bag first searched for its owner. When he failed, he informed a senior police official. "We had thought that it belonged to a passenger," the official said. Meanwhile, sources said that an FIR has been registered against unknown persons and the bag has been sent to a forensic lab.
