The dark days are not over yet. But, the power situation in Delhi improved marginally yesterday as the shortfall came down to 200 MW due to improvement in electricity supply from the central sector generation plants.
The demand also fell as most offices remained closed on Sunday.
Despite an improvement in the power situation, several areas, especially localities of north and east Delhi, witnessed load-shedding of up to two hours.

"The power demand came down to 3,300 MW against an average of 3,600 MW. The situation was better today as offices were closed. The shortage of power in Delhi today was only of around 200 MW," a power department official said.
The Capital has been reeling under severe power shortage for the past 10 days due to disruption in supply from central sector generation stations. On Saturday, Union power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde met Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit and assured her of uninterrupted power supply to the city during festive season.
He also agreed to provide an additional 280 MW of additional power to Delhi from the central unallocated quota. Power from unallocated quota was given earlier to Delhi during peak summer months when power demand went up significantly. "The power minister assured uninterrupted power supply to Delhi during festive season," Dikshit had said after a meeting with Shinde.
