A Delhi-based journalist of a Mumbai-based magazine has lodged a police complaint against the owner
The owner of a Mumbai Mumbai-based magazine and his two associates may land in trouble for allegedly threatening to kill an employee of the company in Delhi.
The victim, Arvind Goswami, who is working as a journalist for the magazine in the capital, has lodged a complaint at the Barakhamba police station.
Goswami has alleged that the he had been receiving threats from Mumbai at regular intervals for "reasons unknown to him."
He claims that there is no bad blood between himu00a0 and his employer.
The Delhi Police is yet to file an FIR against three people named by Goswami, including the owner who reportedly belongs to a political family.u00a0
The media company had also recently expelled its managing editor on alleged charges of sexual molestation of a female executive in their Delhi office.
Interestingly, the managing editor runs a national campaign on save the girl child which has also been endorsed by the President of India.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi District) Shankar Das confirmed the allegation against the managing editor. He told MiD DAY: "An employee of the company was charged with sexually molesting his colleague when they had gone for an outstation trip."
Section 506 IPC
The offence of criminal intimidation shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both; and if the threat be to cause death or grievous hurt then the jail term may extend to seven years, or with fine, or both.
