What it's about: Circus is refreshingly different from Sandalwood's staple fare such as run-of-the mill crime stories and romantic yarns. Dhanush (Ganesh) and his gang of pranksters live in a railway colony. Things go awry when their pranks 'bomb' on them with scary results. Then, there's a troika of terrorists with sinister motives.
What's hot: Ganesh notches up a neat performance. And so do the supporting stars. The unexpected twists in the tale and the gripping climax are definite pluses.
Whats' not: Emil's music, but for one song, is an assault on the ears. The narrative plods along in places.
Verdict: Circus is a paisa vasool film.
