To present merit awards tomorrow to IAF's 31 Squadron and 9 Base Repair Depot; Lohegaon air base to see air show, fly-past, parade in honour of Supreme Commander
President Pratibha Patil landed in the city yesterday for a three-day visit. She arrived at Lohegaon airport at 4 pm and then left for the Raj Bhavan.
This is the third visit of President Patil to the city since June last year.
Tomorrow Patil will attend a function organised by the Indian Air Force (IAF) where she will present merit awards to IAF's 31 Squadron and 9 Base Repair Depot.
There will be an air show, a fly-past and a parade at the Lohegaon air base in her honour.
After the programme, she will leave for Delhi.
At the time of her arrival, heavy bandobast was put in place by the Airport, Yerawada, Vishrantiwadi, Khadki and Chatushrungi police stations.
Her route to the airport on Saturday will be decided today, said sources.
In view of the President's visit to the city, the police have beefed up security.
