Cops had received a tip-off that Yeda would meet Ganesh Bangera and some other rowdies at an isolated road near central prison on Hosur Road.
The cops reached the spot and intercept them. While the police were taking them into custody, Yeda pulled out a pistol and threatened to open fire on them.
"Yeda scared the cops and taking advantage of the darkness, managed to escape along with Cocaine Harish and Venu," said Nyame Gowdam, assistant commissioner of police.
However, Bangera and others were arrested from the spot. Ironically, all the officials of the CCB officials were armed and had backup during the operation.
'We were stunned'
The Organised Crime Wing of the CCB is an elite force set up to counter the underworld and terrorists.
However, with three criminals escaping from right under their nose, the wing was left to answer some embarrassing questions.
The officers, claim that they were momentarily stunned by the sudden developments. It may be recalled that Yeda, along with Bangera, had escaped from a CCB trap on March 12.
