1,05,846 dishonest commuters make Pune Division of Central Railway richer by about Rs 4 crThe Pune Division of Central Railway earned Rs 3.97 crore by catching 1,05,846 unauthorised travellers between April 2008 and March 2009.
According to a railway press note, various ticket checking drives were conducted all over the Pune Division to catch people travelling without valid tickets, platform tickets and with unbooked luggage.
The number of cases of irregular travellers during the year was 37,519 and a fine of Rs 1,75,99,791 was collected from the defaulters, the release added.
