Pune girl dies of H1N1, toll reaches 8

Swine flu claimed the life of a 13-year-old girl early today and now, the death toll across the country has touched eight.

Shruti Gawade, a student of Ahilyadevi school, became the sixth victim of the H1N1 virus in the state.

Shruti, a resident of Narayan Peth, was on ventilator since August 7, when she was brought from a private hospital in critical condition, said Dr Pandurang Pawar, medical superintendent of Sassoon Hospital.
