Punjab government engineer commits suicide in office

Harbhajan Singh, who was found unconscious in his office room which he had bolted from inside, was taken to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead. Police said that he had consumed some poisonous substance.

In his suicide note, the engineer mentioned the names of three senior officers for creating circumstances which forced him to take the extreme step.

He was working in the office of the block development and panchayat officer here.

His family said that Singh was upset in the last few days owing to harassment by his seniors.

Police have initiated inquest proceedings. u00a0
