Stopped for drink driving man alleges traffic cop was rude and roughed him upA constable and a railways employee got into a scuffle late night close to Corporation Circle.
Around 12.30 am Constable Narayana Swami of the Halasuru Gate traffic police station stopped a speeding car to check for drink driving when he got into a fight with Chandrashekar I (47), who was returning from a party in MG Road.
"When I stopped him he admitted he was drunk, so I asked him to come to the police station with me, but he refused and started abusing me," said Constable Narayana Swami.

He has even scratched my face badly." However, Chandrashekar, who works at Majestic as a Chief Ticketing Inspector, had a different story to tell.
"When I stopped, the constable pulled out the keys of my car and called up at the police station. When I asked him what right he had to do that, he started assaulting me. He pulled my collar and hit me," said Chandrashekar.
"I did not attack the constable at all. After he reached the station, he scratched himself only to put the blame on me after I said I would file a complaint," he added.
Around 1.15 am, both the parties filed their complaints at Halasuru Gate police station.
Head Constable Chikkaventaiah said, "The complaint will be registered tomorrow morning. We'll have to review both the complaints and then proceed with investigations."
