Animal lover says 27 of her pets will soon have nowhere to go, as Raveena Tandon has asked her to vacate the land rented out to her for shelter home
After three years of taking care of animals, Twinkle Shivdasani and her 27 dogs and cats will soon have nowhere to go. According to her, Raveena Tandon, who had leased her some land for a shelter home, is now asking her to vacate, for a beautification project.
The news has come as a shocker for Shivdasani, who claims that Tandon is forcing her to vacate the land located at Wada Taluka in Thane before the contract gets over. She added that she had to put her house in Jogeshwari (W) for sale to relocate the animals in a new shelter.

Ambika Shukla, communications director, PeTA India said,"We have nothing do to with this matter. We have not even seen the farm, nor I have spoken to, or met Twinkle. PeTA has no involvement in this matter." Raveena Tandon did not reply to our calls or messages. |

Shivdasani had mailed Tandon with a request to allow her to make use of her plot at Thane as a shelter home for pets in 2006. Tandon, a PeTA brand ambassador, had permitted her to use the land for establishing, running and maintaining an animal shelter. Tandon had asked for a licence fee at the rate of Rs 1, since it was for a noble cause. The agreement was made from Sept 2006 to Sept 2011.
"I am thankful to Raveena since she gave me this place to operate the shelter, but her sudden change in behaviour worries me. She and her caretaker have threatened me that all my pets will be back on the streets, if I don't vacate the place in the next few days. We are only using half the space of the allotted land," grieved Shivdasani.
Shivdasani, who was working with a PR firm in Mumbai, is currently jobless and has no money to feed her pets.

"For the past one month, I have been unable to give nutritious food to my pets, but through my networking I have managed to get food for them. I don't want them to be helpless," she added.
A source from the village confirmed this, "Tandon has asked Shivdasani to vacate the place as the farm is undergoing beautification. Since the shelter home is at the entrance of the farm, it is supposedly spoiling its image. The pets at the shelter are starving, but neither the caretaker, nor Tandon have offered her any assistance."
Woes galore
Shivdasani also claims that Tandon has now approached PeTA to relocate the petsu00a0 "She has done many campaigns against use of animals skin for bags with PeTA and even after that she has no love for animals. PETA has asked me not to make it public about the problems; they assured me that they would relocate the animals.
But I fear they might set them free on their own as PeTA and Tandon are closely associated," she added.
