It was a starry Monday evening at Hungamma, with actors Aditya Pancholi, Neena Gupta and Urvashi Dholakia partying it up. Thankfully, the resto-pub accomodates a quiet dinner area where individuals who prefer uninterrupted privacy can have a good time too.
Ambience: A striking collage featuring American legends Jim Morrisson and Marilyn Monroe adorns one wall. The resto-pub is housed in a narrow hall, with the bar at one corner and dimly lit seating sprawled around it.
Food and drink: The menu is dominated with Mughlai khana, and that's what we tried. Our first order: Kakori Kabab (Rs 280) and Machhli Tikka Achaari (Rs 230). We realise that Kakori Kabab is meant to be melt-in-the-mouth, but the one served to us fell apart the minute we dug our forks in it, leaving an inedible mess on our plate. Machhli Tikka Achaari saved the day. For main course, we ordered the Khade Masale Ka Gosht (Rs 240) and Dal Makhani (Rs 140), both tasty and totally worth it. We can't say the same about the drinks though. The Margarita (Rs 300) and the Hungamma Special Cocktail (Rs 350) didn't have any alcohol, instead it was some insipid, dilluted concoction.
What we liked: The choice of music; it began with a mix of retro classics including Michael Jackson, Abba and Boney M, and then progressed to House music.
The service: Is polite and prompt.
