A DAY after MiD DAY reported that the Rosary School management had sent notices to parents saying if they did not pay the hiked fees their wards would not be allowed to appear for exams, the president of the school announced students could give their exams provided parents submitted postdated cheques.

In an official statement, Vinay Aranha, president of Rosary School, said parents who had not been paying fees had been asked to sign individual declarations and submit postdated cheques to enable the school to start preparing for the examinations.

But parents of students are yet to accept the offer.

"We are ready to pay the outstanding fees in cash within a day's notice provided the school provides amenities and a high standard of education as it claims," said Nilesh Mahajan, a parents' representative. "As far as accepting their offer is concerned, we are yet to decide on it. However, it seems unlikely."
