The complainant was Anil Shahurao Gaikwad (50), resident of 1248, Revenue Colony, Shirur, who has a printing press in partnership with his brother-in-law Deelip Lokhande.
Waje was investigating a complaint in which it was alleged that Lokhande cheated Gaikwad by defaulting on an instalment towards a joint bank loan taken for business.
Gaikwad approached the ACB on November 16, claiming that Waje had demanded a bribe from him. A team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Sanjay Naik Patil of ACB laid a trap at a tea stall in front of the Shirur police station and caught Dalvi who accepted the bribe on behalf of Waje.
