Balaji's babaji
My former colleague SV Balaji's family guru is quite the rage in the campus these days. The guruji (with an incomprehensible name) was, after all, the one who had "predicted" Bala's future and "warned" him to get out of the Hitech City office before 2008 ended. And Bala did precisely that. Now working for a rival IT giant, Bala has taken up the additional job of being his guru's PRO. Everyday someone or the other in the team gets a call from Bala who insists on meeting his guru for some "safe future guidance."
Raju raga
Trust techies to come up with something fun at every crisis, even if the joke is on them. These days, Raju songs are something that are bringing in all the giggles amongst the Satyam sundaris. The antakshari (if I can call it that) the girls in our bay were having during lunch break had songs with the word 'Raju' in them. So there was Raju chacha, Oye Raju pyaar na kariyo, Raju ban gaya gentleman, Mera naam Raju gharana anaam and many more. Never before did I realise our chairman had such a 'musical' name.
Job sites, still zindabad
The government has intervened, the new directors have been appointed, the noise has died down but Satyamites are still going job hunting and will do so for a while. Forget official websites and news portals, checking job sites and fishing for consultants' number is what takes up most of the time, even after the industry biggies claim the hysteria has been hushed up. I am on a lookout and so are my co-workers and bosses. The solidarity saga is fine, but when it comes to a question mark on one's job, you just don't have an option. Do you
