Std VII child gets 19-year-old woman, who used to take off gold earrings of kids after abducting them, arrested
A 19-year-old woman, who has been robbing school girls of their gold earrings after abducting them from the school premises in and around Bhosari for quite sometime now, ran out of luck on Saturday.
Kalyani Kale, a resident of Gavhane colony in Bhosari, was arrested after a standard VII girl outsmarted her on Saturday afternoon. She has been booked under Section 392 (robbery) of the Indian Penal Code, said police sub-inspector Rajendra Giri from Bhosari police station.
According to the police, Kale had approached Rutuja Ravindra Landge (11), a resident of Radhakrishna Nagar colony and a student of Bhairavnath Vidyamandir School, after her school was over around 11am on Saturday.
Hard nut to crack
Mangal Landge, Rutuja's mother, said, "The accused told Rutuja that her grandmother had taken ill and that she should accompany her to the hospital. Kale almost dragged my daughter to a nearby isolated place and told her to take off her gold earrings.
But Rutuja proved to be a hardnut to crack for the accused as she didn't buzz even after three hours of persuasion and intimidation. Frustrated, Kale then tore the earrings off my daughter's ears.
But Rutuja didn't give up, she continued shouting for help. Finally, a bus driver came to her rescue and caught hold of Kale and handed over the accused to the police," According to the police, they recovered at least four gold earrings, looted from school girls, from Kale's possession.
