Trupti Bhoir's 250 kg body make-up for Marathi film Agadbam catches Guinness Book officials' attention
Trupti Bhoir's fat act has caught the attention of the Guinness officials and the actor is mighty thrilled about it.
The popular Marathi actor wore body make-up that weighed a whopping 250 kg, and on one occasion stayed with the make-up on for 26 hours at a stretch.
Agadbam is about an overweight girl and her tryst with marriage. Bhoir, who has also produced the film, said, "I am very glad that the film is doing well all over Maharashtra. I expect to recover my investment worth Rs 6.50 crore."
Inspired by Eddie
She added that the film was inspired by Eddie Murphy's Norbit that released in 2007.
Bhoir said that she tried hard to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.
"I was trying to get in touch with them for the past eight months," she said. "They finally saw my film and are coming down to verify the whole make-up procedure."
Bhoir said that she did not do the film for the sake of records alone. "This film sends out a strong social message. It motivates all women who are overweight." She also said that, "Overweight women are beautiful too. The film tackles the pressures of being slim. They need to be accepted by people for what they are."u00a0 She also claimed that the film has received a great response from women.
The film one of the first in the Marathi film industry to use prosthetic make-up. Anil Pemgirkar, Bhoir's make-up man said, "The entire process of make-up was lengthy and tedious. The challenge before me was make Trupti normal in this most uncomfortable outfit," he remarked.
