Owner nabs them stealing TV, hands the duo over to the police
Jayadeva learnt the hard way that 'trusted servants are hard to come by.' Last night at around 1.30 am, he handed over his two servants to the police in connection to theft of goods worth approximately Rs 2 lakh.
B Shekhar (18) and Nagaraj Goni (21) were taken into police custody after Jayadeva found them stealing a television set. He told MiD DAY that the duo had approached him around one year back and requested him for a job.
Jayadeva gave them a job at daily wages at his HAL and HSR Layout residences.

Shekhar and Nagaraj Goni hatched a plan to steal goods from Jaydeva's construction site. |
During preliminary investigations it was revealed that the duo planned to steal things from the house but because of round-the-clock security they could not do so.
When Shekhar and Goni realised that it would be difficult to steal from the home, they hatched a new plan to steal items and steel from the site near Mahadevapura police station limits where Jayadeva was building a
new home.
They requested Jayadeva to shift them to the new site and he obliged. They robbed over Rs 2 lakh worth of steel and even stole electric pumps.
Jayadeva reported that Shekhar had also takenRs 50,000 from him on the pretext that his mother
was unwell.
When Jayadeva became suspicious of his workers' attitude, he followed them and saw his television at their home.
Chikkanna, assistant sub- inspector told MiD DAY, "They have been held for stealing and cheating their owner of more than Rs 2 lakh. We will start a full-fledged investigation."
