SPA warns Sinhgad Spring Dale School mgmt against splitting its campus between Warje and Ambegaon

The School Parents' Association (SPA) of the Sinhgad Spring Dale School has threatened to launch an agitation against the school management's decision of shifting the school campus to two different locations -- Warje and Ambegaon -- from the existing one in Narhe.

Last month, the school management had issued a circular to all the parents, informing them about its decision of shifting the campus. According to the management, while one half of the 12,000 students would be shifted to Warje campus, the remaining half would be relocated to Ambegaon.

Expressing their displeasure over management's decision of splitting the campus into two halves, parents stated that most of the children were unwilling to relocate, speculating that they would either lose their friends or face commuting woes, as they won't be provided with school bus service.

"Once the exams are over, by next week, we'll hold a meeting between the school authorities and the parents. The management has to give us a choice and resolve the matter, or else we'll agitate. The students cannot change the campus like this," said Shivbhau Pasalkar, head of the association.

School officials say that since the campus was getting overcrowded due to the adjoining medical college on its premises, they decided to shift the campus. This is for the second time the management wants to shift the campus.u00a0 Nearly two years ago, the authorities had shifted the campus from Vadgaon, to its current location in Narhe.u00a0

"We have not yet decided, but will conduct a meetingu00a0with the association and see what can be done," said an official from the school.
