So far, the CB had booked Palande in six different cases; the latest will be the seventh. Cops had learnt that Palande had disposed off body parts of Karan Kakkad at Kumbharli Ghat in Chiplun, after killing him. They had recovered a torso and a skull from the ghat.
While the DNA samples taken from the torso matched with those taken from Kakkad's mother, but the skull hasn't. The officials are now suspecting that Palande could be involved in yet another killing. "DNA samples taken from the torso have matched with those taken from Kakkad's mothers, but not the skull. This means that the skull belongs to someone else and Palande might be involved in yet another murder, which he is not telling us of," a CB official said. The officials would register a fresh case of murder against Palande and would be seeking his police custody for interrogation.u00a0
