Slut Walk in Delhi under threat?

Delhi Police has information that the Slut Walk, scheduled for July 31 can be disrupted by anti-social elements. Cops have now decided to step up the security.

According to sources, police got information that for the last two weeks, the organisers have been holding open forums every Sunday at Jantar Mantar along with some volunteers to discuss the issue of security. Police had deployed over 50 personnel to protect them from any untoward incidents.

"We provided security for each and every protestor. Now we are planning to make elaborate security arrangements for them," a senior police official said.

Mishika Singh, member of the organising committee of Slut Walk, said, "We only got to know this from the media and for security reasons we sent the letter to Delhi Police for permission. We don't have reason to fear any group."
