Alone again naturally
A forthcoming photography exhibition is all about seeing the world in a whole new perspective
This work by Laurent Goldstein is part of his series Benaras The Oldest Living Cty. It's a tribute to this historical city that continues to evolve constantly.
Observation is a strange thing. It slips us by when we're most at leisure and strikes just when we ought to focus all our energies on an 'important' thing at hand, as if the rest of the world doesn't exist. The World Around Us an upcoming exhibition of photographs turns random observation into a thing of importance. The photogs, whose work will be displayed at this four-day show, include art lensmen Ajay Rajgarhia, Laurent Goldstein, Neeraj Mahajan, Shashwat Nagpal, Udit Kulshreshta and Siddhartha Puri.
Dialogue on canvas
"People and their relationship with the world they live in, is the central theme of this show. And the 25 that we chose will have a constant dialogue with co-participants and viewers," says Madhumita Puri, creative director, Art for Prabhat, the organising gallery.
"We have been regularly working with them, and hence know about their prowess and vision. Also, there is a huge amount of comfort and belief that is mutually shared," she adds.
Chhoti baat
Interestingly, this show is in aid of Society for Child Development, for the education of children with intellectual disabilities. Hence, 50 per cent of proceeds will be given to the organisation. Head to raise some hope.
