They also promise that the site would be free of offensive content and will be sensitive to Indian sentiments.
"The thought of creating the website struck us when we thought about the time spent on Facebook. When we are on the website, we don't do anything that helps us professionally.

Therefore, we decided to offer several features that would cater to the professional needs of an individual," said Avni Agarwal, a student of MPSTME and one of the promoters of the website.
"Our team includes students pursuing various courses such as MBA-Technology and B-Tech. The core members of the team include Mehul Gupta, Laksh Mangoo, Prashant Singh, Rahul Khanna, Ritesh Singh, Ronak Doshi and Sanoj Verghese."
Socheers has features of several networking sites. This includes uploading and sharing documents that a user might be working on, a jukebox that allows uploading of music among many others.
The users can also play games with each other simultaneously as they chat. The site also facilitates video chatting.
